RTD Announces Local Bus Service with Seven Days a Week Schedules
02/02/2026
Stockton, CA—On Sunday, January 25, San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) will implement service updates focused on improving how riders travel within the City of Stockton. The service update provides consistent and reliable access to transit throughout the week. Riders will see the same route and coverage areas on the weekends as they do on weekdays, making travel simpler and more predictable. The update supports travel for work, school, medical appointments, shopping, and daily needs.
What’s New:
Local Routes: All 500-series routes will now operate seven days a week with weekdays running approximately every 30-minutes and weekends running approximately every hour.
New Route 571: Routes 371 and 335 are now combined with additional trips to support the March Lane Corridor and the Bianchi Road area.
Route Number Update: Route 40 Local will now be Route 540 to help improve clarity for riders.
Returning Route: Express Route 40 service returns to the weekend with a timepoint added to Fremont and Commerce bus stop, across from the Adventist Health Arena.
Metro and County Hopper Routes: Minor schedule adjustments have been made to improve reliability and connections.
“Seven days a week local service creates a consistent transit network riders can rely on,” said RTD CEO Alex Clifford. “Providing local service seven days a week ensures riders have consistent access throughout the week and brings Stockton in line with regional and statewide transit operations.”
RTD encourages riders to review updated schedules before traveling.
