Stockton City Manager Harry Black Resigns

Council Designated Will Crew Acting City Manager

Stockton City Manager Harry Black today announced his resignation as City Manager.

“I am honored and pleased to have served the City of Stockton and its residents for the past five years,” Black said in announcing his resignation. “I want to thank the mayor, city council, the residents and businesses of Stockton for allowing me the distinction and honor to have served the people of this wonderful city.”

“We thank Harry Black for his service to our city, our community and to our residents,” said Mayor Christina Fugazi. “We wish Harry the very best in all his future endeavors.”

The Mayor said the Council designated Deputy City Manager Will Crew to serve as acting City Manager until a search is conducted and a new City Manager is appointed.

Black was appointed as Stockton’s City Manager in January 2020, just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City and Mr. Black have reached an agreement to resolve any remaining issues with his contract.
