RTD to Implement Service Changes on January 26

On Sunday, January 26, San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) will implement several service changes that increase service to better meet the needs of our riders. The changes include adjustments to weekend and weekday routes, along with schedule updates resulting from traffic conditions.

  • Express Route 40 weekend schedule will be replaced with Local Route 40 to offer more frequent stops along Pacific Avenue. This change will enhance accessibility and convenience to shopping centers, grocery stores, and other popular destinations. Local Route 40 will operate seven days a week.
  • Commuter Route 163 schedule will be adjusted to address traffic delays. The route will now travel on I-5 after leaving the Lodi Park-N-Ride.
  • County Hopper Route 793 (formerly 723) and 797 will expand service on the weekend to enhance connectivity to the Downtown Transit Center on Weber Avenue, providing improved service to different jurisdictions in San Joaquin County.

“We're thrilled to introduce these improvements that make it easier for our community to get where they need to go,” said RTD CEO Alex Clifford. “These updates reflect our continued commitment to enhancing the rider experience and providing dependable transportation. These improvements are the first of two scheduled service improvements in 2025.”
