Nominations Sought for Inaugural ATHENA Youth Leadership Award

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the inaugural ATHENA Youth Leadership Award. This is a brand new award category from ATHENA International and will be the first time the Stockton Chamber will be presenting this award at the ATHENA Luncheon.

The ATHENA Youth Leadership Award honors individuals that are under the age of 18 who are empowering and amplifying the voices of women and girls. The ATHENA Youth Leadership Award highlights individuals that are creating an environment that is inclusive and collaborative, where others feel valued and respected. Recognizing exceptional youth leaders who are expanding and deepening their impact by how they live and lead in their community. The honoree will be celebrated alongside this year’s ATHENA and ATHENA Young Professional recipients at the ATHENA Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Nomination deadline is 5:00pm on Friday, October 4, 2024. Nominee must be younger than 18 years old on December 1, 2024.

Understanding the ATHENA Awards

ATHENA International partners with hundreds of chambers of commerce, colleges & universities, corporations, women’s organizations and affiliate communities in 48 states and 11 countries. Over 8,000 leaders have been recognized with the ATHENA Leadership award in over 500 regions worldwide. The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is home to one of the longest running ATHENA programs in the nation, with the first Stockton ATHENA Award being presented in 1986. The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award was introduced locally in November 2010.

ATHENA International is a catalyst for developing diverse, transformative leaders who create a balance in leadership voices worldwide. We ignite, amplify and celebrate girls, women and allies through experiential programs that empower them to discover and activate the transformative leader within.

Qualifications for Nomination

To be eligible for an ATHENA Award nomination, individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrates The Eight Principles of Enlightened Leadership™ in all aspects of their life.
• Demonstrates excellence by taking on leadership roles and expanding their knowledge and personal growth.
• Provides valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community that are unlike themselves.
• Actively assist peers in achieving their full leadership potential.
