CITY PARKS POST-STORM CLEAN-UP
Most parks now open; four parks will remain closed for public safety
STOCKTON, Calif. – City of Stockton crews and contractors have been actively working to recover from the January storms. Effective today, February 3, the majority of our City parks are now open and available for use. Due to hazardous conditions, the following parks will remain closed: Oak Park, Panella Park, Louis Park and American Legion Park.
Open Parks Information
Some maintenance is still needed in parks that are now open, including mowing and removal of downed trees. Trees that have fallen are not safe. Please do not play, sit, stand, or gather around downed trees. As the weather improves and the ground dries out, fallen and severely damaged trees will be removed, and the regular maintenance schedule will resume.
Closed Parks Information
Oak Park, Panella Park, Louis Park and American Legion Park will remain closed, including facilities and equipment at these parks. Park benches, picnic areas, walking paths, playground equipment, ball fields, sports fields, sports courts and restrooms in closed parks will remain unavailable for use. These parks have downed trees that are dangerous and ground that is too wet for activities and will remain closed until clean-up of fallen trees and branches, unstable trees, storm debris, and damaged fields, courts, and equipment, can be inspected, removed or repaired. Do not remove tape or fencing and do not use these parks or equipment until the park is posted as re-opened.
Additional maintenance and repairs are expected to take place over the next few weeks. For updates, please visit www.stocktonca.gov/parks. To report damage or needed repairs in City parks or anywhere in the public right-of-way, please make a request through Ask Stockton at www.stocktonca.gov/AskStockton or call (209) 937-8341.
