COMING SOON

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have decided to put the publishing of Port O Call on hold. The April 2020 issue was the last issue we published. We are in the process of revamping the format to an online-only version. Please check back soon for more information.

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is a powerful advocate for its members! But to be an advocate, the Chamber must be heard. The award-winning Port O Call is the voice of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce… and it is heard! The readers of the Port O Call are among the most influential people in Stockton’s business community.

To submit items for consideration in the Port O Call, e-mail to schamber@stocktonchamber.org .

What does the Port O Call have to offer the average business person? A lot! Here are just a few of the Port O Call’s monthly features:

PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT

The Programs department section keeps readers informed about the local business environment and what the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is doing to improve it. Updates on the activities of the BEA, SCAP, Green Team San Joaquin, and FRESH are discussed in depth. Special sections such as Legislative Update appear when needed to provide timely information to readers. Guest writers have included political leaders, authors, business experts, and more.

EVENTS

The Events section keeps you informed about all Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce events and some community events. Find out how attending and sponsoring events such as the ATHENA Awards, Agriculture Hall of Fame and Industrial & Technology Barbecue can benefit your business. Get monthly updates from Visit Stockton and great events in Stockton. The date and location of Networking Mixers are highlighted on the table of contents of every issue and a complete calendar of Chamber committee meetings is on the near back.

NEWS BRIEFS

If you are a Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce Member in good standing and have some great news to share with the Chamber, the News Briefs section is the place for you! Whether it is an award, you or your company has won, a new hire, or an event you think the community needs to know about.

Submission Guidelines: News Briefs must be submitted before the first of each month toschamber@stocktonchamber.org. Please put “PORT O CALL” in the subject line. Submissions must be no longer than 50 words and include contact information. News Briefs will be included on a space-available basis and may be edited for content.

LEADERSHIP STOCKTON

Follow the journey of the most recent Leadership Stockton class. From updates on their monthly sessions to their year-long community service projects. The Leadership Stockton program helps to educate and shape the future leaders of Stockton and the Greater San Joaquin County area. We highlight the program and inform you of the beautiful work they do in the community.

NEW MEMBERS

Find out who’s who among the newest members of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce. The New Member section is a great place to learn about new services. In many Liaison Surveys, Chamber members often state that this section is among their favorites. With so much attention, New Member announcements provide a tremendous free publicity boost to companies new to the Chamber.

MEMBERSHIP

There’s strength in our numbers! To be effective, we must represent a large percentage of the business community. Therefore, the Chamber maintains an active and effective recruitment program for the good of all its members. Because our recruitment activities are essential to every Chamber member, the Port O Call reports about recruitment efforts in every issue in the Membership section. Information about our membership committee, the Chamber Ambassadors, is provided, including pictures of that month's ribbon cuttings and a listing of our most active membership volunteers.
