SUSD Superintendent Receives National Award

Congratulations to Stockton Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Michelle Rodriguez Named Superintendent of the Year Finalist in National, Prestigious Award.

SUSD is proud to announce our Superintendent takes home two prestigious awards from the National Association of School Superintendents. Dr. Michelle Rodriguez has been honored with Superintendent of the Year Finalist and the Power Leadership Award.

The National Association of School Superintendents calls Dr. Rodriguez a transformative and visionary leader, who has dedicated more than three decades to advancing equity, innovation, and student success in diverse urban and rural communities.

This is Dr. Rodriguez’ third full year as SUSD Superintendent where graduation rates are the highest in SUSD history, reduced chronic absenteeism and increased reading rates.

She has spearheaded initiatives that have expanded access to Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Career Technical Education courses. She launched a Public Accountability Dashboard to transparently track and report progress on 44 priority recommendations developed through 21 community listening sessions and town halls.

Stockton Unified’s Superintendent says the key is to always put students at the forefront and focus on the Whole Child, Whole Family, Whole Community.
