Stockton Youth Employment Summer Success Kick-Off
05/16/2025

The City of Stockton will host the Third Annual Stockton Youth Employment Summer Success Kick-Off Event on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium, 525 N. Center St., across the street from City Hall.
The City of Stockton received a $1.7 million grant through the California Volunteers Youth Job Corps to create a robust youth employment and development program. One-hundred student workers, ages 16 - 19, will gain work experience and build job skills in positions with the City of Stockton, and an additional 150 students and young adults are working with two local non-profit organizations, expanding, and enhancing existing youth workforce programs at the Greater Valley Conservation Corps and Parents by Choice.
This event will bring all those who are part of the Stockton Youth Employment Summer Success program together to celebrate. The afternoon will include orientation for the Student Workers, providing an overview of City departments, operations, and their specific assignments during the summer.
“We received over 1,300 applications for 100 City of Stockton positions,” shared Mayor Christina Fugazi. “This program is so essential for our Stockton youth – getting them real world work experience and building their knowledge of government and the community they live in. All of the students who are part of the City program will work directly with City departments and have the benefit of a supervisor who will work with the students in their job assignments to develop and grow their job skills and potential. An opportunity that they will remember for a lifetime.”
The Stockton Youth Employment Summer Success Kick-off Event is free to program participants and their supporters. Registration is required. Student Worker participants, their parents, and representatives from organizations participating in the program may register online www.stocktonca.gov/YESSprogram and select “Register for Kick-off event.” Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
