Stockton Chorale Names New Artistic Director
05/23/2025

After a very thorough search process for a new Artistic Director, the Board of Directors of the Stockton Chorale have hired Nate Widelitz as the new Artistic Director beginning July 1st. He comes with experiences that are well-matched for the Stockton Chorale.
Mr. Widelitz will be leaving his position as Associate Director of Choral Activities at Millikin University where he directed two (2) choirs and taught vocal and choral music education courses. His experiences also include Assistant Conductor with the Yale Glee Club Chamber Singers in Connecticut where he achieved his Master's degree in Choral Conducting and will be conferred with a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting next year at Yale University. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California where he also served as the Assistant Conductor with the Pacific Chorale in Southern California. Most notably, Nate is the founder and director of the Five Cities Baroque Foundation and Festival, a non-profit organization bringing together musicians from different cities to perform music of the Baroque period to communities in Illinois each summer.
Nate, along with his wife and child, are excited for their move to California this summer.
Be on the lookout for the Stockton Chorale’s opening concert date in October where the community can meet Mr. Widelitz as the Chorale opens its 74th season.
