Applications for the City of Stockton Youth Employment Summer Success (Y.E.S.S.) Program (formerly, The Student Worker Program) are now being accepted for positions available during the month of June 2024. The Y.E.S.S. will provide paid jobs for over eighty (80) youth, aged 16-19, who live in the City of Stockton. During the month of June 2024, this 4-week summer employment program will introduce local youth to a formal workplace setting, build their skills, and raise awareness of public sector career pathways.

The Y.E.S.S. program will also provide workshops, counseling, and mentoring that will focus on career readiness, personal development, and mental wellness during the program. The supportive services aim to enhance the overall work experience and help participants overcome employment barriers normally experienced when employed for the first time.

The Y.E.S.S. Program is funded through the State of California #CaliforniansForAll Youth Job Corps. A $4.35 million grant was awarded to the City of Stockton to create a robust youth employment and development program.

“The #CaliforniansForAll Youth Jobs Corps is a win for our young people, the City of Stockton and the State of California,” said California Chief Service Officer Josh Fryday. “We are excited to partner with the City of Stockton and local organizations to create meaningful job opportunities for our vulnerable youth populations.”
