RTD Offers FREE Rides to Cooling Locations Due to Extreme Heat

San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) will provide free connections to any of the 15 community centers and 17 libraries in San Joaquin County on days when temperatures are forecasted to be 100 degrees or hotter and as long as they remain open. Complimentary trips are available on Express, Local, Hoppers, Van Go! and Paratransit services for those who need a ride to a cooling location.

Express, Local, and Hopper passengers should inform their bus operator or security officers that they are traveling to a cooling location upon boarding to ride at no cost. Van Go! is only available on a space-available basis, customers will need to call (209) 943-1111, option 3, option 1 to book a same-day reservation.
