City of Stockton Offering free sandbags to prepare for heavy rain & local flooding

Seasonal weather forecasts include the potential for heavy rains which may result in localized flooding. If your home or business is in an area that experienced flooding during the 2022/2023 winter storms or you have experienced high water during heavy rains, this is your opportunity to be prepared for the rainy season ahead.

The City of Stockton is offering free sandbags to help community members and businesses prepare for future storms. Sandbag filling stations will be open the Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Stockton Soccer Complex
    • 10055 N. State Route 99, W. Frontage Rd, Stockton, CA 95212
  • Weber Point Events Center
    • 221 N. Center St (Center St. @ Miner Ave) Stockton, CA 95201
  • Van Buskirk Park (former Golf Course)
    • 1740 Houston Ave, Stockton, CA 95206

Sandbags stations are self-service, self-fill, bring your own shovel; those visiting sandbag stations will need to show identification with a City of Stockton address. City employees will be available for those needing assistance with filling and loading bags into vehicles.
