Hedy Holmes Staffing Celebrates 45 Years in the San Joaquin Valley

The Hedy Company, Inc., the parent company of Hedy Holmes Staffing Services is proud to announce that 2024 marks 45 years of business in the San Joaquin Valley communities of Modesto, Stockton, Tracy, and Lodi. February 1979 marked the beginning of an unknown journey for Hedy Holmes, a Rio Vista native, as she set out to forge a future for herself and to make a difference in how companies and employees connect.

The 1980’s and 1990’s were pivotal times for the staffing industry. By 1990, temporary staffing numbers had quadrupled in America over the previous decade. Northern California was slightly behind the national curve, but Hedy saw the potential and jumped into the industry with determination and initially focused only on direct hire placement, meaning she was a good old-fashioned ‘head hunter.’ As time passed, she entered the temporary placement arena and has gone on to place over 100,000 temporary workers in all types of jobs in the region throughout the years.

Customer service has always played a key part in Hedy’s success. Whether she was at a client site checking in workers at 0600 hours, or on a golf course negotiating a long-term contract, Hedy understands the import of the client-vendor relationship. 24-hour/365 days a year- live customer support, four strategically placed offices, community partnerships, and honest hard work have created one of the West Coast’s largest woman-owned regional staffing firms.

Hedy remains active in the company but has handed over day-to-day control to Tena Runyon-Denuit, who as VP, has a knowledgeable team of professionals who continue to navigate the chaotic world of staffing. Processing 2500-3000 new placements annually, the company continues to grow, expand its client base, and enhance its superior level of customer support for both its employees and clients alike.

2024 is our year to celebrate! After 45 amazing years, we are in awe of our success and humbled by our many client and employee relationships.
