RTD and Art Expressions of San Joaquin Unveil New Art Installation at the Downtown Transit Center

Stockton, CA—San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) is pleased to announce a collaboration with Art Expressions of San Joaquin to unveil an exciting new art installation at the Downtown Transit Center (DTC) on Friday, June 9. This captivating installation will feature six unique art pieces created by talented students from Weber Institute, showcasing various transportation elements. The vibrant artworks are set to enhance the experience for the hundreds of riders and visitors who pass through the transit center each day.

"We are incredibly proud to be collaborating with RTD on this project as it provides a unique opportunity for our youth to have their artistic vision highlighted at such an important transit hub," said Art Expressions Board President Ana Vera. "We sincerely thank the generous donations of Art Expressions community members and supporters who have made this project possible."

"I am immensely proud of my students for their exceptional art pieces,” said Weber Institute art teacher Ms. Luz Lua-Foster. This project has not only provided a platform to highlight their talents, but has also ignited their enthusiasm for the power of art. I believe that art should be shared and celebrated within the communities where it is created, and this installation is a wonderful opportunity to do just that."

The unveiling of the art installation will occur at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at the Downtown Transit Center at 421 East Weber Avenue, Stockton, CA 95202. A small reception will be held after the unveiling, featuring complimentary light refreshments and an exclusive opportunity to meet the student artists. This event is open to the public.
