About the Kaiser Permanente Health Equity Scholars Program

The Kaiser Permanente Health Equity Scholars Program supports young leaders who have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a clinical (e.g., pharmacist, physician, practitioner, nurse) or non-clinical (e.g., accounting, business administration, finance, human resources, marketing, operations, public policy) career in the healthcare industry.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a graduating high school senior
  • Must have a permanent address and reside in one of the following states/districts: California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, or Washington D.C.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent), earned from 9th grade through the first semester/term of 12th grade
  • Must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or community college, in the US, for the 2023-2024 academic year

Other

  • Students must have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a clinical (e.g., pharmacist, physician, practitioner, nurse) or non-clinical (e.g., accounting, business administration, finance, human resources, marketing, operations public policy) career in the healthcare industry
  • Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need
  • Preference will be given to students from underrepresented communities

Timeline
Online applications opened January 1, 2023, and close February 8, 2023, 5:00 PM PT. Scholarship recipients will be selected in June 2023, with awards disbursed in the fall (November-December).

  • February 8, 2023 Deadline for Application, Phase I at 5:00 PM PT
  • March 3, 2023 Finalists announced. Application, Phase II opens
  • March 31, 2023 Deadline for Application, Phase II at 5:00 PM PT
  • June 2023 Scholar Announcement
  • September-October 2023 Scholar Enrollment Verification
  • November-December 2023 Financial awards are disbursed
