Abilgail Coussons announced as the winner

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Abigail Coussons, Linden High School, has been selected as the 2025 ATHENA Youth Leadership Award recipient. Abigail was surprised with the news on Thursday, October 16th at the Linden Unified School Board Meeting where she serves at Student Trustee. She was surprised by past ATHENA Young Professional recipient Judge Erin Guy Castillo and past ATHENA recipient Jane Chamberlain.

The ATHENA Youth Leadership Award honors individuals that are under the age of 18 who are empowering and amplifying the voices of women and girls. The ATHENA Youth Leadership Award highlights individuals that are creating an environment that is inclusive and collaborative, where others feel valued and respected. This recognizes exceptional youth leaders who are expanding and deepening their impact by how they live and lead in their community. The ATHENA Youth Leadership Award was introduced nationally and locally in 2024 with the Stockton Chamber of Commerce giving out the first ever ATHENA Youth Award in the nation. 2025 marks the 2nd ATHENA Youth Award presented by the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce and only the 3rd ATHENA Youth Award presented nationally.

Abigail will be recognized at the annual ATHENA Awards Luncheon on November 20, 2025 along with 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award recipient Kay G. Ruhstaller and 2025 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recipient Stephanie Braithwaite, Lily Pad Living/Lotus Rising Recovery Services. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for this high-profile event are available through the Stockton Chamber of Commerce website: https://stocktonchamber.org/athena-awards/.
