Stockton Symphony Launches 98th Season with a Spectacular Lineup of Concerts

The Stockton Symphony is thrilled to announce the launch of its 98th Season, kicking off on September 21st with "Dancin' in Your Seat," an exhilarating night of music that promises to have audiences moving from start to finish. The season opener begins with the vibrant Latin rhythms of Arturo Márquez’s "Danzón No. 2," followed by a breathtaking performance by world-class violinist Chee-Yun, who will bring Lalo’s "Symphonie espagnole" to life. The evening culminates with the mesmerizing "Symphonic Dances from West Side Story," where attendees will feel the passion of a modern-day Romeo and Juliet through iconic moments like the Mambo, Cha Cha, and the unforgettable "Somewhere."

Music Director and Conductor Peter Jaffe presents an enticing concert sampler and an exclusive interview with guest artist Chee-Yun, offering audiences a sneak peek into what makes this concert truly extraordinary.

But "Dancin' in Your Seat" is just the beginning of what promises to be an exceptional season. The Classics Series resumes in November with the powerful and enduring Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. January introduces a new family-friendly event, the Construction Zone concert, and March brings the beautiful lyricism of Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto. The season’s final Classics concert in April delivers Mahler’s transcendent Symphony No. 2, featuring over 100 musicians and a full choir for a musical experience that should not be missed.

This season also includes a lineup of fun POPS concerts for audiences of all ages. October brings the Spooktacular Heroes & Villains concert, and December will be filled with festive, joyful tunes during the Holiday Pops. February heats up with "Queens of Soul," a celebration of legendary female vocalists, and in May, the Symphony will transport you to a galaxy far, far away with the Star Wars Concert, complete with a stunning light show.
