The Stockton Arts Commission will host a celebration and ribbon cutting, unveiling a new public art sculpture at Victory Park. The ribbon cutting will take place at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Victory Park, 1001 N. Pershing Ave. Members of the community are encouraged to join in the celebration. Light refreshments will be served.

The City of Stockton and Stockton Arts Commission executed an agreement with Artist James Moore to design, fabricate, and install an original large-scale sculpture in Victory Park. This new sculpture will pay homage to the former totem pole that was previously located in Victory Park.

“This event is a testament to the power of collaboration between artists and the community and shows the shared commitment to enriching public spaces that define our city,” shared Kris Farro, Community Services Director. “Those who serve on the Stockton Arts Commission have been looking forward to this event, and we welcome everyone to join us for this ceremony.”
