Bolt Staffing, a woman-owned and minority-owned provider of temporary staffing and recruiting services, is celebrating its 30th year in business in 2024. Bolt was founded by Joanne Sanders, a former Mayor of Sonoma, in 1994. She remains the President and CEO of Bolt today. The company’s mission is to provide the gold standard of temporary staffing for its clients and candidates.

“It’s been a long road, but a fun one,” Joanne said to her colleagues during a speech to her company earlier this month. “Lately, we’ve all heard a lot of stories of small businesses packing up and leaving California. Not Bolt. We survived the Great Recession, we survived Covid, and today have a bigger staff and stronger customer base than we ever had before.”

What Ms. Sanders alludes to is true. But while California has lost over 400,000 residents and 352 businesses since 2018, it has not stopped Bolt from continuing to grow and innovate. The company recently announced a partnership with H&R Block, a tax preparing service that provides steep discounts to temporary employees that Bolt sends to various employers throughout California.

“I feel so proud to work here,” says Stephanie Gutierrez, Bolt’s recruiting manager who joined the company after graduating from Sonoma Valley High School, “I feel like Bolt strikes the perfect balance between being a professional services company, and a company that truly cares for the people who work for it. I am proud to work for a woman-owned and minority-owned business – I feel like it set a great example for me to develop in my career as a recruiter and manager.” Stephanie is celebrating her 10-year anniversary at Bolt this year.

Bolt has left a significant impact on the communities it has serviced since its founding in 1994. The company has helped over 25,000 people find a job, and has provided staffing solutions to over 1,000 unique organizations throughout California. Bolt provides staffing for the wine industry, government agencies, and light industrial employers who specialize in logistics, production, and manufacturing.

“(Bolt) is a trusted and dependable partner in support of the County’s Mission and Goals. Their service consistently exceeds our expectations.” Commented Steven Lederer, the Director of Public Works for Napa County. Bolt is a proud provider of staffing services for Napa County, and dozens of other cities, counties, and public agencies throughout California.

Of course, Bolt’s customers are only half of the equation. With inflation hitting the wallets across the country, Bolt has become a key resource for job seekers to find a position that meets their salary needs. One employee commented, “I highly recommend Bolt Staffing. (Bolt) quickly found me a job and made sure I was comfortable with my new position. The staffing agency is spectacular! Thanks Bolt Staffing for making this process extremely simple for me. Weight lifted off my shoulders.”

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Bolt has many things in store for its clients, employees, and the communities it serves that will be unveiled as the year continues. “Cheers to the next 30, everybody,” Joanne commented, in her closing remarks to staff at the company’s last monthly all-hands meeting.
