Tuleburg Press seeks a professional, part-time Executive Director to lead our nonprofit in Stockton, CA. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role involves day-to-day operations, fundraising, collaborations, and communications. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, financial management, grant writing, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit leadership experience, a growth mindset, and a love of all things book-related. This is a part-time, salaried position for someone looking to make a lasting impact in the literary life of the Stockton community. With a two-year matching grant from the California Arts Council, we are seeking a professional who can sustain the position and salary beyond the grant terms.
Tuleburg Press was founded in 2012 to publish writers in the Stockton/San Joaquin area. In 2017, the nonprofit opened The Write Place to offer creative writing workshops, book arts classes, and field trips in letterpress printing, papermaking, and bookbinding. Our Pieces to Peace program is a transformative book art program using traditional papermaking processes as a form of trauma therapy, social engagement, and community activism.
We recognize that the position of Chief Executive Officer is a full-time job. We are not expecting a human being to do full-time work in half the time. Rather we are expecting someone to do quality work within the parameters of a part-time job. Our current staff and volunteers have pushed this organization far on 20-hours a week; if you’re the right fit, please consider applying.
