A Series of Youth and Teen Development Workshops
The City of Stockton Community Services Department is introducing Project Toolbox, a series of workshops designed to empower teens to build foundational skills essential for personal and professional growth. This program will provide teens and young adults with the tools to discover their potential, develop valuable skills, and create positive change through college open houses, job fairs, and financial literacy workshops. The workshops are free to the community.
“We aim to inspire and equip teens with the tools and confidence they need to plan for a positive and successful future,” said Kris Farro, Community Services Director.
The first Project Toolbox workshop is a Teen Job Fair on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Stribley Community Center, 1760 E. Sonora St., from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Participating teens will have the opportunity to connect with local businesses that are offering part-time and entry level positions. The next event will be a presentation by San Joaquin Delta College on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Stribley Community Center from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. College representatives will share information about programs, scholarship, and educational and career opportunities.
“Additional workshops will be added, as we work with and identify the needs and interests of teens in our community,” continued Director Farro. “Thanks to the Strong Communities funding, through Measure M, we are able to expand and offer new programming to designed to meet the specific needs of our youth.”
