A Message from Chamber President Rick Goucher:

New President begins term

July 2009  - As my journey begins as the 109th President of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce I would like to thank the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for the support and dedication they have to the Chamber.

On June 26, 2003 when I was sworn in as a member of the 2003 – 2004 Board of Directors I had no idea that I would become the President six years later.

I have been blessed to have served under six truly great Presidents during my tenure on the Board.  I would like to thank in order;  Connie Cochran, Dan Schroeder, Sam Swofford, Charlynn Harless, Rick Aschieris and Dennis Goldstrand for their guidance over the years.  I would also like to thank the staff at the Chamber for all of their hard work and in particular Doug Wilhoit for his leadership.  I take great pleasure in announcing that the Executive Committee has extended Doug’s contract until June 30, 2014.  I would like to congratulate Mary Pennini and Evenyl Roemmich for being selected for a lifetime membership of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce.

In 2009 – 2010 I, with the Board of Directors full support, have begun the formation of a  Tourism Committee as part of our continued efforts to improve the services that the Chamber provides for its members, the community and those that we want to bring to Stockton and the region to really experience how great we really are and ever improving!

Don’t forget to buy local and support your fellow Chamber Members.  We have become too much of a point and click society which has hurt many local businesses as well as keeping the sales tax dollars away from our local governments.
