Small business award nominations sought

MARCH 2009 - Spring is on its way and June will quickly be here. The month of June brings great things to members of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce. One of the big events in June is the Small Business Awards Luncheon on June 4^th at the Hilton Stockton. This event recognizes Small Businesses in San Joaquin County in the following areas: Small Business Person of the Year, Business Manager of the year, Business Employee of the Year, Business Person of the Year and P3 Stewardship.

The individuals within the company are what make a company stand out from the others. If you have those people within your company and you would like them to be recognized for all that they do, please complete a nomination form and return it to the Chamber Office, 445 W. Weber Avenue, Suite 220, Stockton CA 95203.

The“P3 Stewardship” stands for Policies, Practices and Purchasing Stewardship. This award was created by the Green Team San Joaquin’s REACON Team to draw attention to distinguished businesses who implement green procedures which in turn helps the environment.

The P3 Stewardship Award has been developed to recognize businesses that engage in green practices and reduce their cost of doing business in Stockton and San Joaquin County. The REACON Team has visited many companies in San Joaquin County that are taking the green steps to saving money and helping preserve the environment, but we need to hear from you, the community! Do you know of a company you work with that is doing the green thing? If so, nominate them. The recognition received from this award is a priceless marketing tool.

The eligibility requirements will be listed on the Nomination Forms, which are coming soon, so give it some thought and help us recognize the outstanding people and companies in our community!
